Learning an instrument can be difficult, especially if you're trying to do it on your own with the help of books or videos. They can teach you the basics, but can't give you feedback or correct bad technique as it's developing into habit. Whether solo or in small groups, our experienced teachers can tailor lessons to any skill level and virtually any schedule as well. Learn from some of the most talented instructors in southern Illinois and develop good technique, learn to identify problem areas in your playing and start to develop a more polished, professional sound under the eye of a pro tutor.

Music lessons at Byassee aren't just closed-room affairs, either. The only way to really improve is to perform, and we offer our students opportunities to showcase their burgeoning talent throughout the year.

Founded on a passion for music, Byassee Music has been in business for over 35 years, serving all of southern Illinois with a personalized, local touch. We sell and rent instruments, provide the music lessons and handle all your equipment and repair needs. We can even rent PA systems for your next performance.

All lessons are currently $12 per half hour, once a week. The
scheduling is flexible. We provide lessons for every instrument and the  ages usually start at 5-6 years old.

Our store is located next to Bob Stotlar Lumber at 521 West Main Street in Marion. Come in to meet the staff and see our wide selection of musical instruments.
